Equipment on 55 MHz

This antenna is a special yagi design.
It is a 5 element yagi, with the element closest to the driven element giving the antenna wide band characteristics.

In real terms the band width is 51-70 MHz and the swr does not exceed 2.5:1.
Resonant points at:
55 MHz = SWR 1.17:1
62 MHz = SWR 1.47:1

Radio Shack receiver, Pro 2006 The receiver in use is a Pro 2006 from Radio Shack.
Receiver sensitivity: NFM is -
123 dBm, 12dB SINAD for 10kHz Bandwidth at 3 kHz dev. with 1kHz Mod.

A 486 AST notebook computer running Meteor V8 software provides a low power solution for 24 hour operation.

The software provides all logging Functions such as:
1. Hourly counts.
2. Raw data recording.
3. Meteor duration times.
4. Automatic file generation for RMOB.
